LAURA LEVAI AKSIN, flute

Laura Levai Aksin was born in Subotica. She graduated and completed her master’s studies at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. She continued her studies in Paris with Professor Claude Lefebvre and Professor Patrick Gallois and completed studies with “1er prix de superieur” and “1er prix d’exellence à l’unanimité du jury”. She further enriched her knowledge by attending numerous master classes held by renowned soloists and pedagogues.

Laura won the first and special prizes at the republic and federal competitions in Serbia and the former Yugoslavia.  She was awarded at the competition of Musical Artists of Yugoslavia in Zagreb. At the Sixth International Tribune of Composers in Belgrade she was awarded with first prize for interpretation of contemporary works.

As a soloist she has performed with numerous symphonic and chamber orchestras in Serbia and abroad.  She has held a number of recitals in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Russia, Portugal, Greece, and Israel.

Laura Levai Aksin is solo flutist of Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra. She has served as a solo flutist in the Opera Orchestra of the Serbian National Theatre, The Chamber Orchestra Camerata Academica in Novi Sad, as well as of the ensemble for contemporary music Musica Viva. During her stay in France, she acted as a member of the Tickmayer Formatio and Theatre Jel ensembles, as well as the Orlean Flute Orchestra.

She is a member of the Chamber Trio with Rita Kinka (piano) and Marko Josifoski (violin), the Flute Trio “Density“ and the Wind Quintet “Synergia 5“. For the last three decades, Laura has been cooperating with pianist Iris Kobal.

She has made recordings for a number of radio and TV stations in the region, including Hungarian TV, Czech TV, RTV Dortmund and RAI.

Music publishing houses Recommended Records and SLAM Production from the UK, EOS from Austria, Visio Mundi, SKC from Novi Sad have released a compact disc with her recordings.
Currently she is teaching flute as a full professor at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka. She has given a large number of master classes and served as a jury member at numerous domestic and international competitions and festivals.
